SECRETS OF OMAN 2

Day1:ARRIVAL IN MUSCAT 

Arrival in Muscat. Assistance and transfer to your hotel. Accommodation.

Day2:MUSCAT CITY TOUR 

City Tour – Grand Mosque – Opera House – Al Alam Palace – National Museum – Mutrah 

We will start the day with a panoramic city tour of the city of Muscat. We will continue with the Grand Mosque, the most important mosque in the Sultanate of Oman. It was built in the best Arab-Islamic style between 1995 and 2001 in the city of Muscat, and can accommodate 20,000 worshippers in total. Then we will visit the Opera House, The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) is Oman's main place for musical arts and culture. We will continue to visit the Al-Alam Palace, the residence of the Sultan, where we will make a photo stop outside and then visit the national museum, known as the Museum of Bait rehearsed / Nadir bin Faisal bin Turki. We will finish in the traditional neighborhood of Mutrah, where we can walk through the souk that maintains its oriental atmosphere. 

Dinner at the hotel and accommodation. 

Day3:MUSCAT - JABREEN – BAHLA – HAMRA – NIZWA – MUSCAT Breakfast. 

Depart Muscat for Jabreen to visit the finest castle in Oman built in the late 17th century. This castle has extremely well planned layouts with space for the “Wali”, the ladies’ bath, the kitchen, the “MAJLIS” etc. Most of the ceilings are decorated with beautiful paintings with Islamic motifs. We will stop in Bahia to take a photograph of the fort, a World Heritage Site. Later, we will visit Hamra, a 400-year-old city in the Ad Dakhiliyah region of northeastern Oman. Finally we head to Nizwa, which was the ancient capital of Oman in the 6th and 7th centuries. Today it remains one of the most popular tourist attractions with its historical buildings and imposing fortress. Free time for lunch and visit the souk. Afterwards we will visit the fort, with its enormous round tower built in the 17th century to defend the route to the interior. After the visit we will return to Muscat.

Day4:MUSCAT – WADI BANI KHALID – WAHIBA SANDS – ACCOMMODATION IN WAHIBA 

Breakfast. Departure to Wadi Bani Khalid, considered the largest, most famous and most beautiful oasis in Oman. We will have the opportunity to enjoy the natural pools of emerald water surrounded by palm trees, all in a desert landscape with rocks and steep cliffs. Wadi Bani Khalid has been developed to accommodate visitors with several bridges, rest areas and a restaurant. These areas have been carefully designed so that nothing detracts from the natural beauty of the oasis. We will continue to Wahiba Sands and take the 4X4 excursion for the sunset. Dinner at the hotel and accommodation. 

Day5:WAHIBA – SUR – WADI SHAB – BIMMAH SINKHOLE – MUSCAT 

Departure by the coastal road towards the city of Sur, where we will visit the Aiyga district with its delicate white colonial-style houses and the shipyard that continues to manufacture the famous wooden dhows (traditional sailing boats of Arab origin). Continuation along the coastal road towards Wadi Shab, from where the water of the wadi (river) forms a set of beautiful natural pools and waterfalls of different shades of green and blue protected by very high mountains. Access to the gorge is by boat and then a ride of approximately 40 minutes takes us inland. We will make a stop at Bimah Sinkhole, a kind of raft-cenote 100 meters in diameter with the appearance of a crater under the sea (possibility of swimming). Return to Muscat. Dinner at the hotel and accommodation. 

Day6:MUSCAT. - VISIT TO BARKA, NAKHAL AND AL HAZM CASTLES-MUSCAT 

Departure to visit the castles of Barka, Nakhal and Al Hazm. Barka, an area known for its agricultural beauty, fishing and traditional pastimes. The Nakhal fort is known for its towers, ancient weapons and battlements and Al Hazm for its secret tunnels… and where you can get a panoramic view of Batinah from the top of this castle (the tour includes tickets to the 3 castles, English-speaking guide and transfers. Dinner at the hotel and accommodation. 

Day7:MUSCAT - AIRPORT 

Breakfast and at the agreed time, transfer to the airport.
